Welcome to Crew 2136
Venturing Crew 2136 is the coed high-adventure unit of Scouting @ First Presbyterian. Designed for young men and women ages 14–20, Venturing emphasizes leadership, outdoor challenge, service, and personal growth in a flexible, youth-driven program.
Crew members choose their own activities — from backpacking and climbing to community service and social events — and elect their own officers who plan and lead the program with adult Advisors as mentors.
What Venturers Do
- Plan and execute high-adventure outings and trips
- Develop leadership through elected officer roles and project leadership
- Pursue Venturing awards and recognitions
- Serve the community and the larger Scouting family
- Build friendships and skills that last into adulthood
Who Can Join
Venturing is open to young men and women who are at least 14 years old (or 13 and have completed the eighth grade) and not yet 21. Many members come from Scouts BSA troops; others join directly. Prior Scouting experience is not required.
Connection to Our Scouting Family
Crew 2136 shares the same charter organization and values as Pack 136, Troop 136, and Troop 7136. Older Scouts often continue into Venturing for new challenges and continued leadership opportunities while staying connected to the First Presbyterian Scouting program.
Safety
Adult Advisors are trained in Youth Protection. The Crew follows all Scouting America safety policies so activities remain challenging yet responsible.
